My husband found this video recently and I had to post this. I got only partway through before I started laughing...

Traffic Jam
I think most of us would have to admit, that on occasion they have done it.
You are driving down some back street and you see someone you know so you stop to talk for just a second. Only it's rarely just a second and you end up being slightly oblivious to the fact that now there are three other cars stuck behind you who would like to do anything but wait while you catch up with your friend.
It is somewhat of a nuisance when you drive up to this situation, but generally a quick tap on the horn and we all continue merrily on our way.
The incident this morning added just a tad bit of irritation that would have been nice not to have.
The light on our street is fairly quick. If everyone pays attention and responds quickly, then it is possible that you could get 5 cars through the light. If you have just one person who is doing something else when the light turns green...or worse, is turning right and has to wait for pedestrians to cross, then you can guarantee waiting another 2-4 minutes to get your chance to go through the light.
This morning I was already running a little bit late. One of our cars wouldn't start, and even better, today is street sweeping day on the side of the street it is parked on, which means a $40 ticket.
The light had just changed when I got to the end of the street and there were 2 cars in front of me, so while I had to wait for the light to turn green, there should have been no reason why I couldn't make the next light.
About 10 seconds before the light changed a man walking across the street started talking to the woman in the first car. Based on the look on his face, it seemed as if they hadn't seen each other in some time and was clearly happy to have run into this woman. They had barely said hi when the light turned green.
I watched as they talked, just a little more - which I am sure was fantastic for them - but meant that by the time the woman actually moved, there was only time for her car and the one in front of me to make it through the light. Needless to say, I was angry for just a bit.
Random reunions are great. I find them enjoyable from time to time, but please people, a little common courtesy - make sure you are not inconveniencing other people too much as you "catch up".
