Sometimes I am very inspired. I can come up with great ideas for things to write about and opportunities to explore. Sometimes I am also very motived. In my head I will plan my day and make a mental list of everything that I can get done if I just stick to it.

Unfortunately, it often feels like I am at my most creative as I am drifting off to sleep. I come up with the "perfect" phrases to put into my blog, or start planning a story. Naturally, it is just as I am most comfortable, so there is no way I am going to haul myself out of bed to write anything down.

Then the morning comes with it, having to rush to work out and get ready for work. By the time I get a moment to review my fantastic ideas from the night before, most of them are usually a bit hazy. I sometimes have a vague recollection of what seemed brilliant, but usually not quite as clear as it seemed in the evening.

It's hard to tell just how many of my ideas are truly inspired by brilliance and just lost in sleep somewhere, or how many ideas just seem brilliant because I am falling asleep.

hey i actually blogged about this thought on my site - that when you fall asleep your body relaxes...tension is gone...and so everything functions better. You'll remember that thing that was on the tip of your tongue and you'll get those new ideas. I get it all the time too. 2 suggestions for you:

1. Keep a notepad next to bed or audio recorder. Once you get it out it's easier to drift off to sleep AND you know you have it for later.
2. Give yourself some time during the day where you lay, sit or walk and quiet your mind like that - give those ideas a chance to come to while you're awake and ABLE to act on them.

Good post and stop by my site: http://www.BusinessViking.com.
